In and around Nileshwar there are lot of places
which will give rich experience and immense pleasure to tourists.
In fact the natures treasure around this locality are not
properly exploited for Tourist projects. The beautiful backwaters,
hills and the beaches all make perfect tourist location. Some
of the important such locations are mentioned below.
1. Thaikadappuram
Beach:
- This beautiful beach is the connecting point
of "Thejaswini River" and Arabian see. A vast
area of white sanded beach have lot of places which can
accommodate any no. of tourists. If you want to hide from
the shining sun yes, there is a place - the shadow of
the thickly grown trees around here.

| Those spending an hour at
this calm and quiet place can enjoy heart full of joy
from fascinating views, the milky waves of Arabian sea
as well as the soft breeze,- the embracing of Thejaswini
and the Sea, and when you look east there, far away from
the river the beautiful sight of the hill also behind
the small lake and the green trees around... all gives
us a pleasant atmosphere. |
2. Back Waters & House
Boats: - The cruise through the backwaters of Nileshwar
is really a nice experience. House boats of various styles
are available at the Kottappuram boat jetty just 2 km from
Nileshwar high way jn.(Market). This is one of the most scenic
backwater stretches in Kerala. Fed by four rivers and dotted
with numerous little islands.
3. The
Longest Footbridge: - The longest Footbridge of
Kerala is here in Nileshwar which has a span of 400mtrs.
This bridge not only connect Kottappuram to Achamthuruthi
but also the Nileshwar Panchayat and Cheruvathur Panchayat.
This bridge was built and commissioned for the use of
people in the year 2000 by a committee formed by the people
of this area with the help of Nileshwar block Panchayt,
District Panchayat, Nileshwar Grama Panchayat and Chervathur
Grama Panchayat. The Chairman of that committee was Mr.P.V.Chandran
from Achamthuruthi. |

is which have some snake bends will give you lot of pleasure
from scenery of this beautiful location.

| 4. Nileshwaram
palace: - This was the seat of the Nileshwar Rajas
who were the rulers of this area. This Palace today functions
as the folklore centre of the Dept. of Archaeology. There
is a big pond at the centre of the Palace buildings, where
the swimming practice and competitions are held. |

| 5. Nalanda
Resort: - This 3 star hotel situated beside the
high way NH-17 as well the Nileshwaram river and near
the bridge crossing this river. This has built according
to the Kerala Vastu Kala surrounded with green grass bed
having coconut trees, cottages and ponds. Indian and International
cousins are served here, rooms and cottages are available.
